Going Nowhere

The water in the canals in Leiden, as elsewhere in Holland, is often fresh enough and still enough to freeze over when the temperatures take a hike below zero. Canal skating is not advised with ice thickness below about 8cm, and that takes minus several degress over a week or so to achieve. It was -4 during this stoll through the park, enough ice to stop the boats but not enough to skate on.
